2016 Resolution Update
January 29, 2016
Whether you like it or not, you all are keeping me accountable with my New Year’s Resolutions. I thought the polite thing to do would be to update you.
– Take More Time for Myself
I’ve had a couple afternoons with just me, myself and I, thanks to Matt. I made a wreath during some of my alone time :)
– Read 1 book per month
I have read 2 books so far this month and am currently on my 3rd. They were both recommended by my sister. I liked them, but if you read them and don’t, blame her :) The links will take you to descriptions of the books.
{Summer Secrets by Jane Green}
{The Girl Before A Mirror by Liza Palmer}
– Online ordering
Eh. Not so much. I will continue to work on this one.
– Travel more
We haven’t done any traveling this month, but Charlotte and I will be going to Colorado in a couple weeks. I flew solo with her when she was 8 months old (returning from Colorado), so it’s been awhile. I have a whole bag of tricks that will hopefully keep her occupied for the 2 1/2 hour flight (tablet, food, stickers, coloring books, new books, markers, etc.). She has her own seat, so hopefully that will help. Any other advice is much appreciated!
{Saying Goodbye to Auntie Yoyo while mom said some prayers for our first flight together which was so full.}
– Finish 1 designation at work
I have started studying again and am hoping to take my second test in early spring. I took my first one (and passed!) last May.
– 2 date nights/month
Matt and I had two date nights this month!! We went to dinner and a Broadway show one night and another night we had game night with some friends (anything baby-free is considered a date for us). We also have another outing tonight which will be baby-free as well.
-Workout
I was on a role the first few weeks and worked out at least once a week. This past week was difficult because Charlotte was sick and Matt’s schedule didn’t work with mine. Also, unfortunately, I have irritated a pulled muscle in my stomach (which I got from pregnancy!), so I may have to go to physical therapy to figure out how to work out without tightening my core. Is that even possible?
{My first (blurry) gym selfie.}
– Take more selfies with Charlotte
This one is a piece of cake :)
Unrelated to my New Year’s Resolutions, but I made these two meals last weekend and they were simple and delicious – BBQ Chicken Pizza Pinwheels and Oven Baked Chicken Tacos. They will definitely be put in our regular meal rotation.
You’re welcome for the awesome book recommendations. You know you loved them.
I’m reading Summer Secrets right now!! I just finished the Silent Sister which was super good if you’re looking for your next read!!! I finished it in 1 day!!
That book is on my list!!
