Cinnamon Butter

December 11, 2015

Looky here… an actual “kitchen” post. I think it’s been well over a year since my last one. Enjoy.

I wasn’t able to make gifts for my coworkers last year, so I was determined to make something this year. I tried to stay away from a food item, but with 15 coworkers, it was the most cost-effective route to go. My thought process with this cinnamon butter is that it won’t go bad anytime soon, so it can sit in the fridge and be enjoyed for quite some time. The most expensive part of this was the mason jar ($1.10 each on sale at Target). Matt took Charlotte out for an hour and I got all of these done! It was awesome.*

I’ve seen different cinnamon butter recipes online, but I modified the recipe just a bit. If Matt won’t be home for dinner, I fix Charlotte a healthy, well-rounded meal and then I generously spread this over a handful of rolls and that’s my dinner. ‘Tis the season, right?

{The delicious ingredients.}

{Whip it to your desired texture.}

{I put a couple spoonfuls of butter into each jar.}

{My wrapping accoutrements- it’s all in the details. Matt’s mom had lots of this fabric and it was exactly what I had in mind.}

4 sticks of unsalted, softened butter

1/2 cup honey

1 cup powdered sugar

3 tsp cinnamon

Combine all the ingredients together and mix until you like the texture!

The above was enough to fill 12, 4oz mason jars + 1, 8 oz mason jar, and then some.

*And there was such little clean-up that I even had time to quickly clean the bathroom :)
