2015 Goals

January 5, 2015

I know a lot of people hate setting New Year “goals” and “resolutions,” and some years I don’t like them either, but this year I’m jumping head first and setting a couple.

I only have a few this year because if 2014 taught me anything, it was to not have too big of¬†ANY expectations. I don’t want to list “Ten 2015 Goals” only to be disappointed by January 20th because I’ve already failed at some of them.

1. Read 1 book per month

I have a list of about 50 books that I want to read. Now it’s just a matter of trying to find these books. I hate buying books at retail price because I’ll never read them again, the San Diego library system absolutely stinks (I’ve been number 300+ on the waiting list more than once for a book before) and none of the books I want to read are available through the Amazon Prime library.

2. Earn 1 Insurance license

I’m excited to finally pursue this for work/professionally.

3. Cook one meal per week

I miss cooking. Since Charlotte’s arrival I’ve really put cooking/planning meals on the back burner. My goal is to cook at least one meal per week- I think I can attain that. I just need to plan ahead :)

4. Have no expectations

See above :) I don’t clean the bathroom nearly enough, I don’t eat as healthy as I would like, I don’t know what “working out” is anymore, and I accept it all as it comes. So, here’s to more “accepting” in 2015 and who knows? Maybe I’ll workout once or twice.

And CHANGE. We’re ready for some change. Not that having a baby and adjusting to a little human in our lives wasn’t change in 2014, but something else, something different. As the year goes on, we’ll see what that change is and what it looks like.

Happy 2015!
