4 Months of Charlotte

4months{Month 4 = sitting and holding onto things}

**Not a day goes by that I don’t look at you and say “I can’t believe it was YOU that was inside me all that time!!” It constantly blows my mind that, now that I really know you, I can’t believe you were inside me all those months and I didn’t really know you then.

**You make the funniest facial expressions… you scrunch your nose and eyes, or one eye at a time. They’re adorbs.

**Anything that can go in your mouth, goes in your mouth (if you can get your hands on it).

**You love standing!! You are so strong.

**You’ve discovered your toes (on August 4th to be exact). Changing diapers is a little more challenging than it was before since your hands get reunited with your toes each time we lay you on your changing table.

** You’ve started to roll over back to front (we’re still working on front to back). You get frustrated because you roll onto one of your arms and it’s sometimes hard to get it out from under you.

** Your fingers are just about the best thing ever since sliced-bread milk. You suck on them and play with them with your tongue. It’s really funny to watch.

**When one of us is holding you and the other one comes up and starts smiling at you, you get so excited and face plant into the shoulder of the person holding you.  You do this over and over and over :)

**If one of us (mom or dad) come into the room while you’re with the other one, you twist and turn so you can keep an eye on us. It’s so cute. If this happens while you’re eating, you’ll try to pull your bottle with you wherever you’re looking.

**You’ve started to enjoy your pacifier more. We’re hoping to get rid of it on your 1st birthday (yeah, I know, Happy Birthday, right?), but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

**You’re still giving us a run for our money when it comes to your sleep, but you’re almost always in bed between 7:30-8pm (and I’m in bed shortly after that!).

**You LOVE your voice!! And we LOVE to hear you talk. You get such a concerned look on your face while trying to get all the sounds out.

**All I have to say is “Who’s that baby?!?!” in an annoying, high-pitched voice and you start to smile. You can be across the room in your swing and not even see me, and you start smiling and looking around. Cutest. Thing. Ever.

**You move around SO much in your crib!! Complete 180’s and 360’s. We finally put the bumper pads up because you were constantly putting your feet through the crib slats.

**You sit up on your own for minutes at a time.

**I started back at work and it has been an adjustment for us all. I think more so for me as you seem to be handling the transition like a champ.

**You screech! The volume at which you screech is ear-piercing loud at times.

**You still love your nightly bath. You love laying on the counter, talking to us, playing with your bath towel and having your hair brushed. Aaaaand you’ve just started rolling over on the counter, so it’s time to use your tub.
