Our new and improved photo gallery wall.

(First off, sorry for the glare in these photos. I clearly did not pick the optimal time to take these pictures.)

Thought I should post some pics of our current photo wall since it might be changing again. I have no plans to change it anytime soon, nor do I have any ideas of what else to do with this wall, but since this is the 3rd change on this wall since we’ve lived here, who knows what will happen next and when it will happen. I actually don’t think I ever got any photos of our most recent photo wall (the 2nd change on this wall), but that’s okay because I like the way this one turned out better :)

The wall clearly isn’t done since a lot of the frames are empty, but at least it’s 99% done. Right now there are just a few wedding photos (along with a painting of the Spanish Village Art Center where we got married). Soon enough I’m sure it will be filled with photos of our little girl once she arrives.

While figuring out the arrangement of frames and buying the frames, I didn’t really pay attention to the size of the frames and the direction (horizontal/vertical). I wish I would have paid more attention to that. Now that it’s done there’s not much I can do, but I figure I’ll rotate through photos more often than not AND who knows how long this arrangement will last!

Prior to hammering nails and drilling holes, these frames lived on our living room floor for a few weeks while we were I was deciding what look I liked best. I then traced each frame on brown craft paper, cut the “frames” out, taped them to the wall, then moved them around as needed. And then I did a lot of measuring and then some more measuring. The first time I hung the “W” I didn’t use the proper nails and when I was hammering another nail, the W fell off and hit the side table perfectly so it cracked :( My sister, being the best sister that she is, bought me another W (from Hobby Lobby) and brought it to Christmas. The wall looks so much more complete with the W.

Once I finally find a new end table (and coffee table) and table lamp, I’m sure it will be time to redecorate/rearrange again.

    Looks terrific.

This looks so great- you’re such a fabulous designer! I love the mismatched-ness of the frames. And I didn’t even notice that some were empty!
