Snacks for Traveling
June 26, 2012You do not want to be around me when I get hungry. Matt knows the signs and typically says, “uh-oh, is cranky Barbara going to come out?” Unless I have food nearby, the answer is usually yes. It’s sad that I revert back to a 2-year old when I’m hungry, but it’s true.
I think more clearly and I’m nicer to be around when my stomach is satisfied. It’s a win-win for everyone. I never travel without food/snacks. You don’t always know where you’ll end up, what situation you’ll be in or what your food choices will be so, in my experience, it’s best to be fully prepared. These snacks don’t take the place of a full meal, but they do a good job of keeping me pleasant if a full meal isn’t to be had :)
{some of my favorites: trail mix, luna bars, pretzels, dried fruit, apple, string cheese (must be eaten quickly), cookies, crackers}
{Soyaki crackers with an edamame twist}
{my go-to trail mix if I want one without chocolate, which I usually don’t, but Matt does}
I most definitely use this “we’re traveling and need snacks” as an excuse to try some new goodies at Trader Joe’s. They have some of the most interesting and best snacks around and since you’ll be on “vacation” it’s the perfect time to splurge :)
