Super Bowl XLV Party!

February 4, 2011

In honor of one of the biggest days of the year for football, I thought I would do a little post on Super Bowl Parties!!

We’re going to a party this year, but I love party-themes, party food, party ideas and party-planning, so I wanted to just see what was out there. Who knows? Maybe I’ll help someone out there with their Super Bowl party planning this year :)

Unfortunately I couldn’t find any Packers party set-up like this Steelers set-up (maybe because the Packers haven’t been to the Super Bowl in so long :( ). But, I figure that, A) the Packers are yellow too so you can use the same decor and, B) you can Packers-ize all the other goodies! I found this great set-up at Entertain Exchange.

Delicious Goodies

How amazing do these {Soft Pretzel Bites} look??

Make {Cheese Steak Sliders} on Ritz crackers! How creative is that?!

{Southwest Avocado Bean Dip}, ummm, yum!

You can’t watch football without eating some kind of chicken wings, so why not try this {Buffalo Chicken Dip}?

Since I try to eat healthy 90% of the time, I definitely have to post some healthy options too…

These {Cheesy Zucchini Bites} are only 19 calories each… You can eat 100 and still be within your recommended daily caloric intake!! Just kidding, don’t eat 100… you’ll probably feel gross.

These {Tomato Basil Skewers} look so light and refreshing. Perfect to balance out all the beer, pizza and chicken wings!

I’ve seen watermelon’s cut into different shapes to form a bowl for fruit salad, but this is the first time I’ve seen it shaped into a football helmet! So creative…. they even tell you how to make it here.

Scrumptious Endings

* Okay, so I know you don’t think “dessert” when you think of Super Bowl food, but I just couldn’t resist these cupcakes! How cute are they?! 2 cute 2 eat!!

The little footballs are truffles!! A delicious cupcake AND a truffle… Double yummy, right? You can use the truffle recipe suggested, or you can use the oreo truffle recipe I told you about here and shape them into little footballs. I (and my “taste-testers”) can guarantee you that the oreo truffles are delicious AND there are only 3 ingredients, so they’re SUPER easy : )

Cute ideas! We are having a Packer Party because my husband is from Green Bay and is a superfan, but the most creative thing we are doing are green and yellow jello shots….Might have to step it up a notch!
